BVI Office Updates

BVI Office Updates

During the last few months of 2014, Alcogal’s BVI office had some exciting developments: on the one hand, it was honored during the commemoration events to recognize the 30th Anniversary of the IBC Act and, on the other, it relocated to new premises.

30th Anniversary of the IBC Act

The BVI celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the International Business Companies Act, which kick started the BVI’s financial services industry and is responsible for much of BVI’s success in that arena. To culminate the many activities held to highlight this historical occasion, the Premier of the Virgin Islands and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, hosted a cocktail reception on September 25th, 2014. The Premier used this opportunity to honour all registered agents who had been present in the Territory for more than 20 years, which was a pleasant surprise. Alcogal BVI was a proud honouree and resident director Ms. Benedicta Samuels was on hand to collect the award on the firm’s behalf.

New Premises

The BVI office now has a fresh look! In November 2014, Alcogal BVI moved to a new location. The new space provides better facilities, the opportunity to expand in the future and easier access to the BVI Registry of Companies, among many other advantages. This welcome change provides further evidence of Alcogal’s long term interest in the BVI.

Alcogal partners Jaime Alemán and Raúl Zúñiga, along with Offshore Services Manager Anayansi Villalobos and Compliance Manager Lorena Zerr, visited the new premises in December 2014 and were equally impressed and excited about the future potential

Please stay tuned for further developments and updates from Alcogal’s BVI office.
