His practice includes the structuring of local and international financings, as well as the design and implementation of corporate and fiduciary vehicles such as multi-jurisdictional entities, private interest foundations, and trusts—both for estate planning and as security structures in financing transactions. He also advises on the negotiation of complex agreements related to these structures.
Prior to joining the firm, Mario worked in both the public and private sectors. He served as a legal consultant to the Colón Free Zone Administration and as legal advisor to Colon Container Terminal, in addition to his experience in private legal practice. He has also collaborated with non-profit organizations.
Mario has been actively involved in academia and professional development, serving as a law professor and speaker at international conferences across Europe, Asia, and the Americas on topics including corporate structures, foundations, trusts, and international tax competition.
He holds a Law and Political Science degree and a Master’s degree in Maritime Law from Universidad Santa María La Antigua, as well as specializations in tax management and securities law.
