Alcogal represented Industrias Lácteas, S.A. and Sociedad de Alimentos de Primera, S.A., in a monopolistic practices case brought by the Consumer Protection Authority (ACODECO).
The case, related to alleged price fixing in public bids, was dismissed in August 2024 due to insufficient evidence. This ruling protects the companies from possible sanctions and reaffirms their position in the market.
The team was led by partner Jaime Castillo, with the collaboration of associate Doris Nieto. The companies will seek to consolidate their presence in the domestic dairy market with a strategy focused on transparency and fair competition. At the same time, ACODECO will continue to monitor commercial practices in tenders to ensure a level playing field for all participants.
