Reaffirming its firm commitment to support organizations that lead initiatives aimed at conserving the biodiversity and natural resources of Panama, Alcogal recently made a contribution to the National Association for the Conservation of Nature (ANCON), for the construction of its new headquarters.
“We thank Alemán, Cordero, Galindo & Lee, for being part of the group of companies that contribute to the construction of the ANCON building, which will serve as the headquarters for the conservation of nature in Panama,” said George Hanily Arias-Executive Director of ANCON.
Hanily Arias stated that this new building represents history, heritage, and a green home for our country where actions are carried out based on the love of nature, science, integrity, commitment, and transparency. “This contribution is valuable because we are managing to articulate a network of companies that join together for the conservation of nature and believe in our mission,” he said.
As for Alcogal, Arturo Gerbaud, managing partner of the firm, said that the firm shares ANCON’s vision of inspiring and contributing to the protection and restoration of the natural resource base and ecosystems of Panama, to improve the quality of life of present and future generations.
Protection of the natural heritage
ANCON was founded in 1985 by a group of visionaries: businessmen and women, entrepreneurs, scientists, and community leaders to protect the country’s natural heritage, and since that date, it has worked uninterruptedly with the priority of conservation.
In this respect, ANCON focuses on strengthening the system of protected areas in the country, and ensuring the conservation of ecosystems, through the generation of knowledge, education, science and jobs within our network of private reserves, of which it is a part: Punta Patiño, the largest private nature reserve in Panama and a RAMSAR site of international importance.
The association works for the conservation of natural resources and sustainable development through science, conservation, incidence, and environmental education under methodological and participatory principles.
